Starting 25th June 2001 my friend Martin Cockersole and myself are making another trip by bicycle from one end of the UK to the opposite. Having done the "end to end" (E2E: Land's End to John o'Groats) several times between us, we thought this year we would do the other diagonal - the D2D - from Dungeness in the South East of England to Durness and Cape Wrath in the far North-West of Scotland.

As last year, in addition to all the necessary cycling paraphenalia, I will be carrying a GPS tracking unit, containing the embedded software I have developed for the LocaVista Company, and powered by battery. This system will enable any of our friends with a mobile phone to find out in real time our present whereabouts, speed, direction, daily distance, and daily journey and a brief comment.
